The services are provided FREE, and attendees are encouraged to bring paper documents that contain personal and/or financial information to be destroyed as well as electronics such as old computers, hard drives and cell phones. The event is Nov. 4 at the UT Health East Texas Olympic Center (414 S. Main St., Jacksonville 75766) from 8 a.m. to noon.
NO BOXES WILL BE TAKEN. PLEASE BRING YOUR DOCUMENTS IN A PLASTIC BIN, PLASTIC BAG OR A BOX YOU CAN KEEP.
Shredder trucks and volunteers will assist participants and hand out information on identity theft protection.
All attendees must remain in their vehicles during the event.
BBB Serving Central East Texas is part of an expansive network of BBB’s across North America that collaborate to produce Secure Your ID Day events. The program is a BBB-branded identity theft, fraud prevention and educational initiative that features on-site document destruction and distribution of identity protection tips and resources to local communities.
