Mission (what we do today)

KVUT Radio is a service of The College of Arts and Sciences at UT Tyler. We educate, enrich, enlighten, inspire and inform.

Vision (what we plan for tomorrow)

KVUT Radio offers a gathering place of ideas, a forum for learning and a haven of community in a variety of venues: radio, TV, digital, social and in person.

We illuminate the region’s conversation with distinctive storytelling, interviews and analysis.

Values (how we carry out our mission and vision)

  1. We uphold the promise and pledge of public radio.
  2. We honor our FCC definition as a “noncommercial, educational” station by providing places for students and others to learn about mass communication and more. In addition, we provide education to our listeners through UT Tyler’s vast resources of experts.
  3. We believe and uphold the First Amendment rights of the freedom of speech, of the press and to assemble.
  4. We consider all ideas with respect.
  5. We declare that broadcasting is fun, and we exalt those who have a sense of humor.
  6. We care about each other and our community. We celebrate milestones.
  7. We produce news and other programming that spurs discussion, inspires critical thought and provides diverse, inclusive viewpoints.
