Mission (what we do today)
KVUT Radio is a service of The College of Arts and Sciences at UT Tyler. We educate, enrich, enlighten, inspire and inform.
Vision (what we plan for tomorrow)
KVUT Radio offers a gathering place of ideas, a forum for learning and a haven of community in a variety of venues: radio, TV, digital, social and in person.
We illuminate the region’s conversation with distinctive storytelling, interviews and analysis.
Values (how we carry out our mission and vision)
- We uphold the promise and pledge of public radio.
- We honor our FCC definition as a “noncommercial, educational” station by providing places for students and others to learn about mass communication and more. In addition, we provide education to our listeners through UT Tyler’s vast resources of experts.
- We believe and uphold the First Amendment rights of the freedom of speech, of the press and to assemble.
- We consider all ideas with respect.
- We declare that broadcasting is fun, and we exalt those who have a sense of humor.
- We care about each other and our community. We celebrate milestones.
- We produce news and other programming that spurs discussion, inspires critical thought and provides diverse, inclusive viewpoints.
